Re-upholstered Rocking Chair

My parents gave me this beautiful chair, that my mom used for my younger brother and had it sitting in my dad's break room at work since my brother grew up. The cushions are in great condition, but they are green, so not exactly matching the colors I have picked for my nursery. And the chair was a little darker than what I wanted. So JT and I decided to work together at changing it!

{Chair before any changes}
{We started with covering it with primer}

{The day after we did all the primer I woke up to JT painting the chair for me, he's the best}
I still have work to do on the cushions, but it matches a lot better in the nursery!

Matson Wedding

So my sister got married a week ago and it was a beautiful day!

Brittany married Jason in the Seattle Temple on Friday, April 11, 2014. It was such a beautiful spring day in Washington. And we are excited to welcome Jason into our family! The night of the wedding they had a reception in Sumner, Washington, in a great venue. Then a week after the wedding, Friday, April 18th, in Chubbuck, Idaho they had a second reception for all of Jason's friends and family. Both were beautifully decorated with Brittany's wedding colors, pink and black.

The Sunday before the wedding Brittany and Jason asked me to take a few pictures of them in their wedding dress and suit, to have a picture ready for the receptions. Here are a few of the many pictures I took-I am still an amateur photographer-but think they turned out pretty good with some editing help from JT:

{Her heel got stuck in the bridge, perfect photo opportunity!}

{My favorite, and the one they ended up using}

Pictures from the Temple:

I can't wait to see the photographers wedding pictures, he has already shared a few sneak peaks and they turned out great. It was such a beautiful day, and we are excited to have Jason in our family!

32 Weeks

How far along: 32 weeks / 7-8 months

Baby size: Approx. 16.7 inches long and 4 pounds (according to my "I'm Expecting" App).

Weight gain: 26 pounds

Maternity clothes: Yes! The last few weeks I have been dying of discomfort. While visiting home last week I also bought my first two nursing bras! So comfortable! And it was nice to get sized and get advice on what is best for now and after I have my baby.

Stretch marks: Yes...

Sleep: Depends on the night. Some nights I constantly wake up to reposition, or because he is moving around too much. Luckily we have been trying to be better about going to bed earlier and I don't have to get up until about 9:30 everyday.

GenderBoy!

Movement: Constant! This last week it has really increased, no matter what I'm doing or how I'm positioned.

Best moment this week: Putting everything together that I got from the baby shower back in Washington. Especially the bassinet my mom got us!

Looking forward to: Getting the stuff I ordered online from Target in the mail! I am so excited to put all the things together for our nursery!

Food cravings: Fruit and/or sugar are always satisfying. And onion rings, whenever we decide to go out but can't decide where to go, I pick a place with onion rings.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope!

What I miss: Fitting into clothes. Being able to go to the bathroom without the hassle of bending down to pull my pants down. So basically being comfortable.

Symptoms: On top of the sleep problems, the last week I have started having Braxton Hicks contractions. So those are interesting. I also have more back pains, but luckily I have some nice rice packs from my other mother, Aimee, that really help soothe my back. And this morning I had a new development, I noticed I was lactating just a little bit. Luckily I have lots of nursing pads from my friend Natalya, so I might start carrying them around with me, just in case...

Belly button in or out? Out! It's funny, my mom was helping me with the bra fittings and she thought my belly button was so funny. Hers hardly stuck out, and when it did it would be more towards the end of her pregnancy. I haven't had my belly button for over a month now!

Wedding rings on or off? On. Not swollen, yet.

Mood: Excited! Although I'm getting some more of the symptoms of the third trimester, I'm loving every moment of my pregnancy and it is going by so quickly!

Crafty Me

I always have these great ideas of crafts to do, but usually they are unrealistic because it can get really expensive. But with getting ready for baby to get here I have some things to do! There's less than 2 months until baby comes, so there is little time left that I have alone time. Hence my crafting time. It had been awhile, and it felt so good to step into my favorite crafting store, Porters-the most dangerous store for me to go to in Rexburg, they always have great deals.

Craft #1: Spring Wreath

This was unplanned, until I went to Porters for some sewing supplies. I have wanted a good Spring wreath for a while now, so I looked on pinterest and found some great inspiration. Luckily I found this basic wreath on sale for $4.50.

Then it was just a matter of adding some decorations. Easy and adds some appeal to our door!

Craft #2: Nursery Closet Organizers

So a while back I got this amazing idea from pinterest on how to organize clothes in a babies closet, see pin here. Basically it is a simply way to organize between the different months in a closet. And the organizer in me needed some kind of way to distinguish between the different sizes.

The supplies. Simply: Scrapbook paper, mod podge, stickers, paint and brush, scissors, and paper/cardboard "0" or "O"s. I painted the back side, put the scrap book paper on the front, and the stickers to label which category the clothes should hang.
Final product! (N for newborn)
I love seeing my nursery closet so organized!

I was actually originally got these crafts to do over my spring break, but then we ended up moving over spring break, so I made the wreath before we moved then saved the rest for after the move and visit to Washington. We moved within the same complex as we are currently living, the Mesa Falls apartments in Rexburg, but instead of our small 1 bed/1 bath we moved up to a 3 bed/2bath, an increase of about 400 square feet. I'm loving the extra space, and I'm so excited to start decorating the nursery! Pictures to come soon!

Little Blue Bow Ties

So my sister got married last week! Since I was coming in-town early for her wedding, my mom and sister threw me a beautiful baby shower the weekend before the wedding. It was fun to see my family and some friends, to celebrate the little human growing inside of me.

Here are a few pictures from the party!
(I didn't take any because I was busy talking with everyone! So these are all taken from others)

Such a fun and delicious cake!

With my beautiful momma.

Belly comparison. (NO Britt is not pregnant, just crazy skinny)

My new, beautiful bassinet! Present from my mom.
Fun sugar cookies my other mother (Aimee) made for the party.

I got so many wonderful and generous gifts! We are so thankful! Now baby Dewey has more than enough clothes to supply him for the first few months of his life. Thank you to everyone that was able to make it, and to those who just sent gifts. We are so blessed!
