A Review of 2016

2016 was a good year. It had some great ups, Madeline's birth, and some lows, my cousin Chad passing away. Reflecting on 2016 I picked a picture from each month.

I hope all my family and friends can look back at 2016 with better insight and look to 2017 with hope to do and be better, that is my goal!

(Reed cousins, Chad is on the far right.)

In memory of my cousin Chad, who we lost in October. I think I'm still in shock that he is gone, and I feel sad that the last few years we haven't been as close but I miss him dearly and pray that his family can feel some relief from their grief in 2017.

(He was diagnosed with NF2 the day after my wedding, five years ago.)

(Summer 2013 - Chad is on the far right, this picture is with the Walker and Meldrum siblings (minus Harrison and Amy), and Chloe and Adam.)

Madeline Eve: Month Three

Our sweet girl is three months old, time has gone by fast! This month we had fun celebrating her first Christmas and dressing her up.

Madeline keeps on growing, she hardly looks like a newborn anymore. We moved her up to size two diapers, hoping we will have less poop explosions (she has given us far more problems in that department than her brother did). Madeline is really into sticking things into her mouth, mostly her hands. She loves to look at interesting things, like mobiles. She loves watching brother play. She has gotten very clingy and gets upset if she thinks she's alone. Madeline also still doesn't sleep through the night, most of the time she wakes up every three hours to eat but goes right back to sleep after a feeding.

JT's month of paternity leave was such a blessing, we have seen such a difference between her and Jonas and because of it Madeline is a lot more comfortable letting dad hold her and rock her to sleep.

Madeline started getting interested more in holding small toys, sticking things in her mouth, and looking at interesting objects.

Tummy time by the Christmas tree.

Library visit! It's hard to make it out of the house on a newborn schedule but for Jonas we try.

She loves bath time in her Puj bath!

Christmas 2016: Part Two

We enjoyed spending our Christmas weekend in Utah with the Deweys! It is a lot warmer in Utah compared to our frozen tundra in Rexburg, Idaho. We had to drive down a day early since Idaho was getting a big snow storm over the weekend. In Utah we enjoyed taking the Trax to SLC, opening Christmas gifts, played in the snow, went outlet shopping, and stopped on our way home to spend a day with Britt and Jason. Great trip filled with time with family!

Jonas loved seeing the fish at the City Creek Mall, then playing at the dinosaur gym in the food court.

JT got to test out VR at the Microsoft store.

The theme of Jonas's Christmas was clothes, books, dinosaurs, and trucks! Madeline got a lot of Madeline books, haha luckily I could return the duplicates. Overall the kids got lots of great toys and gifts, we are so blessed!

Christmas morning! We didn't really do Christmas PJs this year, although Jonas did get new monster and truck PJs.

We woke up with a white Christmas!

Madeline dressed up a lot for Christmas, and I think she enjoyed her first Christmas! (Until around bedtime, because then both kids had fun torturing us for about two hours.)

We hope all our friends and family had a Merry Christmas!
